Course Synopsis
4 Weeks - 4 Evenings - 12 Hours - Metabolic Basics
These 4 evenings together will be information full, at times shocking, and, I hope, be a gateway to possible new ways of thinking, growing, and understanding.
Covering, alongside my Metabolic Intro Series, what I see as the 10 basic elements of the Metabolic Approach, and with room each evening for questions, answers, and ideas, the Re.Generate - Compact course aims to empower you with new possibilities moving on.
Please be aware - the Re.Generate courses are designed to share the theories, concepts, and practical possibilities pointed at by the Metabolic Approach and not designed as debate platforms. You WILL hear various ideas that go against what you “know”, and articles/research will be available to you to check, experiment, learn more about the “why” behind them, and make up your own minds.
Day 1
The seat of health - Liver, Thyroid, and Sugar
Traditional Chinese Medicine has for millennia seen the liver as the most important organ of the body and the absolute seat of health - this theory would agree, but would put the thyroid gland alongside and see the two as utterly intrinsically connected.
In day 1 we will spend time talking about the liver and thyroid - why everything that happens in our bodies - from illness and disease to creativity and happiness - have their beginnings with these two amazing organs - and what they need to function well.
We will also discuss the role of sugar and how it can be used as a health tonic in these days of stress.
Day 2
The Stress Mediators - Serotonin, Estrogen, and Fat
Today we will begin building the foundation of understanding around the metabolic theory of health - having come to a sense of what stress and inefficient energy generation can do to our bodies and cells we will begin to explore two of the major contributors to that energetic deficit - serotonin and estrogen, and how the fats, especially the unsaturated fats, contribute to that energetic deficiency.
Hint - Serotonin, in the metabolic understanding, is NOT the "happiness hormone", but instead rather the master regulator of torpor and hibernation - and Estrogen is not "the female hormone! - Hang on to your seats because this will be a week of hard learning.
Day 3
Youth Maintenance - Hormones, Light, and Bugs
We shall begin to discuss and discover some things about the estrogen industry and how it has deeply and dangerously influenced the way we see our hormones and how they impact our health and well being.
We will talk about some of the "hormones of youth" that many of you may never had heard of - Pregnenolone, Progesterone, and DHEA, that are absolutely essential to us - you are not mad - you are simply stressed!
As well as this we will be covering a new understanding of the importance of light and sunshine, and exploring the connection between our gut microbes and our health.
Day 4
Putting it Together - Supplements, Food, and Play
In this final week we shall be coming together for a last time to talk about what the previous weeks information tells us about how we might move on with improving our metabolic health.
We shall be discussing the particular supplements and possible doses one could use in order to improve sugar use in the body, as well as talking about a couple of potential protocols we can play with.
As well as this we will be simply remembering together and talking about how to continue learning and growing, and some of the key things to watch out for along the way.
